Mohali – What we witnessed today was top class. Rohit Sharma heroic and record 3rd double century against Sri Lanka. He is the only batsman who had claimed this feat in modern cricket. Rohit’s captain 208 not out innings in 153 balls had 13 fours and 12 big sixes.
India lost it’s first wicket on 115 runs when Shikhar Dhawan was caught by Thirimane bowled by slow left arm bowler Pathirana. New boy Shreyas Ayyer co-operated with captain Rohit Sharma with 88 runs in 70 balls until he was caught at boundaries.
At the end of 50 Overs, Team India to set a massive target of 393 Runs with fall of just 4 wickets.
Sri Lankans had slow start with loosing both openers under 8 overs on 30 runs. Angelo Mathews stood still and scored 111 runs not out with cameos from Dickewalla and Gunaratne. At last it was too much for taking for Sri Lankan batsman. They were contained at 251 / 8 in 50 overs exactly 141 runs short.
India won by 141 runs, team captain Rohit Sharma was declared man of the match for his 208 not out knock.
