Rajasthan’s Shambhulal Regar, who had shockingly attacked a Muslim migrant from Bengal before burning him alive, has posted hateful video from inside the jail.
Regard had brutally killed Mohammad Afrazul while also filming his gruesome act. The video of Afrazul’s murder had gone viral with the global media condemning the act of this Hindutva zealot.
Later supporters of Bajrang Dal workers had staged a rally in his support.
The jail authorities have launched to probe into the new revelation, but analysts say that Regar may not have been able to shoot the latest hate video without the state government’s help. Local correspondents say that it’s impossible for any inmate to carry any phone device inside the jail.
Rajasthan goes to polls this year and the ruling BJP is facing incredible anger from the voters. The saffron party had recently suffered humiliating defeats in bypolls for Ajmer, Alwar and Mandalgarh Lok Sabha and assembly seats.
There’s a suspicion that the state government may have given its support for Regar’s hate video to come out of the jail primarily to polarize voters ahead of this year’s assembly polls.
